"Finnish pine is semi-dense in as lighter than Birch, which is the most common species used Finnish furniture, but denser than Spruce for instance. Naturally it doesn't stand to elements as well as Cedar but the Pine used on this chair has been heat treated (thus the brown colour) making it comparable to pressure treated lumber rot resistance-wise.With that said, untreated old growth Pine [which is increasingly rare] can be very dense, and if it's resin-rich than it'll not go anywhere within your lifetime."
