"As someone who (used to) cycle commute in areas with dangerous traffic who also wears glasses, I found that the "over glasses" sunglasses frames block too much of my peripheral vision, so I tried the "half face" version of this and felt much more confident about my awareness of my surroundings, not to mention catching a few satisfyingly long, confused glances from tourists. I don't know I'd consider them critical safety gear, but I definitely feel safer moving through intersections and the like without thick opaque plastic frames narrowing my field of view."
"Always very telling when the response to work injury is "replace people with computers" rather than, you know, making a better set of tools or working environments so that people can keep their jobs without injury."
"I attended a local river cleanup event hosted by the Ocean Conservancy and upon arrival they had tables full of low quality swag items, much of which was partially or entirely plastic. If only orgs did an irony check more often..."
"Okay I laughed at the MUCH larger than expected human scale photo at the end. What's sad is how close the aesthetic is to midrange gaming computer cases from 10 years ago."
"I find that using a small neodymium magnet does the job just as well without the cleanup. You can even stick it on the end of a thin steel rod and use it as a stud "dowsing rod"."
