  • "The concern I have with most of these hide-a-plug designs is that every single one of my power bars has at least one bulky adapter sticking out of it that wouldn't fit. I don't mean this as a criticism of the designs, but it means that they have limited flexibility. As soon as you have one bulky plug, what do you do with it?Of course, I hide all of my power bars under desks and behind furniture, whereas these stylish designs are meant to be on display. So maybe it's not really an issue."

  • "In this particular case, I think the left-handedness matters less than the ability to use the tool in awkward positions/spaces where you'll only be able to position the slant meter one way. That's gonna get you some times, whether you're left-handed or right-handed.From that perspective, I'd favour the Evisu Diamond or Tajima Slant 100, but with a handle that can be attached to either side or removed when necessary."

  • "Great design. Really, it's similar in idea to Microsoft's Arc mouse that folds flat, but much more elegant. I'd love to see an upright wedge design for ergonomics."

  • "The second best part (after safely ending a chase) is that the driver will be totally confused by what the police car is doing at first, and then totally confused by their inability to drive away after getting snagged. Though I imagine that will change as this becomes more widespread."

  • "I think mimicking the human upper body and arms makes sense, particularly for mirroring movement. The lower body is where things fall apart. We evolved into bipeds so that we can make better use of our hands, but every single quadripedal animal is faster and more stable than your average human. And given a choice between walking or using something with wheels to get around, most humans choose the wheels.I'm doubtful that anyone will ever make a bipedal robot that's as fast, stable, or all-terrain-capable as a four-legged or wheeled robot.Side note: this is why the AT-ST in Star Wars makes no sense."

  • "I wouldn't say it's overdesigned, as the aesthetic is great on a desktop. However, there are definite usability flaws that need to be worked out.As noted, it lacks flexibility for different types of plugs/bricks, and I would rather that the cord didn't hang in the air. I'd also put some USB ports on the outside and move the power button to the inside, so that you won't accidentally press it when flipping the Turney. To your point, you can get boxes that are designed to hide power bars, with the extra benefit that you could also fit long cables into the boxes. I'm a cable neat freak, and random lengths of cable sticking out from behind desks annoy me more than dusty power bars."

  • "I agree with Anthony Towers that the usability isn't there. When the mirror is on your handlebars, it's always in the exact same place and you always get roughly the same view. With this, you'd have to hold up your hand and then stare at the mirror to figure out if you're seeing everything. Faster and safer to just do a shoulder check."
