"Looks pretty. Why aren't there any pics of it chopping wood? Even on the website. Having only 2-3 threads of those screws engaged is concerning. Even more concerning is the fact that they sell replacement screws. I'd bet those threads shear after a few dozen strikes. Like, 2-3 camping trips and the head goes flying. "
"I think they solved this the right way, and that's to scale up labor as needed. The chute is genius. There may be other ideas similar to this scale and I'd love to see some in the comments. If they rebuild the stadium someday, they may integrate radiant heat in the concrete (like in the streets and sidewalks of Holland, MI) or build a stadium with a roof (novel concept!). But for these rare events, just rally the mafia and get after it. "
"The primary benefit to the customer would be cheaper fares, assuming the airline would pass on the value of increased density. So the customer would decide to fly in that lower section to save some $$, like the middle seat of today. So I believe there's a market for it, even if many would not choose it."
"Agreed on some sort of tactile feedback. I was thinking a small bump or notch where you pinch your fingers so you can feel the revolutions. Just one per revolution so you can quickly count longer measurements, then look closely for the final bit. You could buy it as-is, and use a file to add a small notch, just enough to feel it. "
