  • "Dieter Rams did not go in Ulm to school, there is and never was a Bauhaus in Ulm and this Rido Busse and his consultancy are certainly not very famous in Germany. In fact I have never in my life heard about them. Oliver Seil should get his facts straight before he spins his origin myth."

  • "While this is certainly an interesting technique I have no idea why anybody would think this is an actually usefull method of achieving a shape like this. There are probably a dozen methods of making the same thing. Without spending hours cutting foamcore and probably a better endresult."

  • "No Alias, no Fusion... but PHOTOSHOP?? Seriously? And Max and Maya are not even CAD tools and basically NEVER used within ID. And adding Blender to the list and complaining it doesn't have CAD capabillity (guess what, it is also not a CAD tool)? And the reason for that is "that it is free"? LolAnd Rhino "isn't as robust as Inventor"? What does that even mean, they are two entirely different things. This article seems pretty ill informed with a lot of half truths and not really accurate statements. Does the author even really know the differences between polymodelling, parametric modelling and surface modelling? And which approach is used for what? I don't think so."

  • "Interesting. But Harley Earl was hardly the first design leader. Peter Behrens was almost 20 (!) years earlier and designed a few iconic products - and didn't stop there but also designed the entire corporate identity of  AEG and was probably the first design leader to have a say in most of what we would call "product strategy" today. Granted, he was never formally an employee. He is in my opinion too important to leave out when talking about the history of design leadership."In 1907, AEG (Allgemeine Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft) retained Behrens as artistic consultant. He designed the entire corporate identity (logotype, product design, publicity, etc.) and for that he is considered the first industrial designer in history. Peter Behrens was never an employee for AEG, but worked in the capacity of artistic consultant."https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Behrens"

  • "It works great until it is lacking a feature you really need in a specific case. Then it flat out sucks because you just can't do what you want to do. Then you search on their forum for a solution and see a bunch of very defensive Autodesk employees saying things along the lines of "Why do you want to do that anyway?"It is not that it is missing some niche features. Sometimes it is missing very basic, obvious things that all competitors have. Example? In Fusion you can't draw a line perpendicular to a (non-straight) spline. It is just not possible, you simply cannot. As long you don't need a feature that is missing the experience in Fusion is pretty slick, though."
