"The spiral design also would seem to be easier to forge. Just twist a hot bronze bar around a cylinder rather than making a cone. And i imagine that it also allows the feathers to "lock" in place as they pass into the rings, making them less likely to come out. Similar to (but much less brutal than) the concept of barded arrows. "
"I think equalizing the cap colors would have a minimal impact on product selection. I tend to shop at varying grocery stores, depending on my fiscal restraints. Due to a lack of strict universal standards, colors will vary depending where I shop. I look for the label color first, then read the text to verify."
"This reminds me of a room in the crawlspace underneath my highschool. For some reason, the trapdoor to the crawlspace was in the workshop backstage of the theatre (because highschool drama punks would never dare do anything subordinate!). After spelunking about 70 yards, often crawling on one's belly, you got to a "room" that had about 4 feet of clearance, a couch, a lamp, a table, a bong or two."
"Automatic brakes. I was driving a loaner on 3-lane, 45 mph hwy. A car was poised to get on said highway from a parking lot. It was encroaching a bit, but not to the point that i had to swerve. The car was stopped and the driver was looking at me, so i saw no need to slow down as i was in the midst of moving traffic. My smart-alec loaner, however, freaked the fuck out and slammed on the brakes, whipping me forward since i wasn't expecting it. Luckily, no one was tailgating me at the time so no one was hurt. Another reason no one was hurt is that the car has no emotions and was therefore unscathed by the ghastly things i yelled at it for the next 5 minutes."
