"That really is nice. It's clean, clear and functional.I would also like to see a TetherLock "Fob" with the mechanism as shown but in the shape of a key-fob that could be attached to existing tools so that..a) You don't need to change all your tools at onceb) You can use a tool that isn't available in the TetherLock universe. This really is a nice implementation of a very good idea."
"I know that everyone's wind tunnel will say the same thing so car designs tend to be similar but the resemblance to the Range Rover Evoque is uncanny."
"I followed one in to work this morning and the story is quite different.Firstly, only the horizontal bar is orange (normal for indicators in Europe). The diagonal bars are red.Secondly, only the horizontal bar flashes. The red sections are brake/running lights and are either solid on or solid off.The static image with the flashing arrow you have used has clearly been doctored and doesn't look anything like reality here in Europe."
"I would like to see the numbers on this one.It looks like a big pod for very small rotors but I could be wrong. I've see a lot of drones and the rotors are always way bigger than the cargo."
"There is something similar going on in London at the moment too...https://www.theguardian.com/science/2018/aug/25/buildings-made-from-fungi-open-cell-pop-up-bio-lab-innovators-londonAll good stuff"
"I think that there is a bigger problem with this device than those already suggested. I don't think it will work properly.A traditional cassette player drives the tape by pressing it against a spinning metal drive pin with the "pinch roller". It drives the spool to take up the slack but the speed is governed by the pinch roller. This machine doesn't have a pinch roller. If you think about the pinch roller method has to be the way to do it. Cassettes are recorded at 1 7/8 inches per second. Imagine just pulling the tape through by winding the spool as this machine appears to do. If the spool winder is at a fixed speed (in RPM) as the spool fills up its radius increases and the actual tape speed through the machine will increase with comical results."
"I knew a number of people who did this on a DIY basis to make very light exhaust pipes for their racing hovercraft. They used domestic pressure washers. It was very impressive stuff."
"How about a 3d printer that uses the same(ish) idea?Enter the Candyfab from the Evil Mad Scientists...https://www.evilmadscientist.com/2009/the-candyfab-6000/"
"I admire their idea but this isn't for me.The practicalities stack against it as does the cost.40-50 Euro for each cooking pot seems very high. It's all about community but only a community of people who can afford $40 each for a skillet. That doesn't solve anything for me.Bring back fondue if you want to cook together :-)"
"I think I might be being a bit daft here so please put me right if I'm missing something but doesn't having a foot high tunnel down the middle mean that the bike is a foot too high and could be lower thereby reducing drag that way?Sorry if I'm missing the obvious."
