  • "Honestly, for things like buckets, and a number of other items, if you can't convince consumers that the "strange" colorations caused by using recycled plastic aren't the coolest thing ever, you need to fire your marketing department."

  • "In the late 90s, I was in a Ford dealership, waiting to pick up some parts and heard two of the guys in the service department complaining.  A customer needed a side-view mirror for their new Explorer, and there were possible replacements.  The only way they could figure out which one they needed to order for the customer was to take the door apart (which was a half-day job) and then look at the bolt pattern on the mirror.  One of the mirrors would have to be imported from Brazil and was back-ordered for weeks.  Hopefully, Ford's stopped doing things like that, or customers will find themselves very unhappy with the expensive vehicle they just bought."

  • "Ah, but you CAN ride in a replica of the Dymaxion car at the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville.  Every couple of months (when there's no pandemic) the Lane Motor Museum holds an event where they give people rides in a handful of their cars from their collection.  The Dymaxion replica is some times on that list.  And these aren't mere rides around the parking lot, you get a nice mix of highway and city driving in a ride that lasts at least 15 minutes."

  • "Hideous and stupid.  Dash items should be designed so that either a quick glance or touch will give you the information that you need.  The longer someone has to take their eyes off the road or fumble around to find a setting for something like the climate controls, the more likely they are to have an accident."

The only way one could say this is if they were unfamiliar with the history of Batmobiles that goes all the way back to the late 1930s Graham. https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2014/03/was-the-first-batmobile-a-coffin-nosed-cord-or-a-graham-sharknose-part-one/"

  • "I see a real problem with this design, by carrying the load on one side of your body, should you slip (because you stepped on a patch of ice) you will be more likely to fall on the side where the load is.  Worse, because your arm is tied to the sling, when you reach out to stop your fall (as you will reflexively want to do), it'll be tangled in that sling.  All of which means that when you hit the ground, you'll be at risk of injury from the sling, something which wouldn't happen with other designs. "
