  • "Super interesting article. In the UK it’s common to teach kids to ride a bike without pedals to get used to balancing first. Balance bikes (like the Strider bike you reference above) are fantastic because they’re built to a small enough size that means kids can start moving on a bike well before they can handle pedalling. Then the kids first ‘real’ bike will be one that comes with pedals that you can remove, which they get used to, before you add the pedals and they can ride away."
