"So what I'm hearing is if you live in a rural area where the greatest traffic comes from four wheelers, we shouldn't think that it's necessary to wear a helmet?I live in a rural area I have 3 kids and it is essential for my kids to wear helmets, you have no idea what people can do on their own without any influence from vehicles or somebody riding beside them.How much can help from any kind of crashes or Falls Especially with kids.But what I find most intriguing anywhere is that parents make their kids wear helmets where they do not.For me it's about being the person who sets the standard in the family I am a cyclist, I'm a cycling racer, I put my helmet on to bike 700m to where I go swimming and I expect my kids to do the same.It's a healthy habit because they will not be living in the country forever, they will move to the city and it's something that should be habitual and something that they should do as I was thinking.Of course everyone has a choice in whether they wear a helmet or not, but it is known that freak accidents happen and helmets save lives."
