"Great read! I've been debating this same topic for a while now. It's this whole issue of "designing to persuade or enable?". The example I've often used has been referring to Wall-E and the hover chairs people used. If not careful, tomorrows products could lead us from products being intuitive down to everything being dumbed down to a point of being counterproductive. This is a complex situation and it comes down to our decisions as designers on what impact we want to have. Riding that line of "persuade or enable" is a hard one, but is one of the responsibilities of a good designer."
"I absolutely love this article and appreciate the detail and work into aggregating this info.Would you mind clarifying/expounding on this statement from rule #5 " Would you still apply if the job was somewhere else? (The answer should be yes)"My apprehension to this is although we should be pursuing a line of work, what if we are attracted by a company's culture (not just the name)? Example, startup style vs corporate or family-oriented vs edgy.Looking forward to hearing your response and continuing the conversation!"
