He can sculpt a fancy upright bike frame on an inflatable paddle board, but can't manage foils? At first I thought he was using a fin drive(like a Hobie) which would restrict lifting the hull from the water, but no-its a propeller... this guy truly has more money then sense."

Also, with the exception of the extra long drywall boards, under what circumstance is a load required to hang straight out the rear of the bed? Why can't you close the tailgate and have the material rest on top of it?"

  • ""Rubau took an 8-year hiatus from design to become the Export Sales Director for a Spanish forging machinery manufacturer"...considering how "outlandish" his Tramontana is, this reads more like he was kicked out of the industry. Based on what I see with this bike-board thing, I don't think he's changed much.Design wise it's fine. I think the most creative thing has been to add a bike to a paddle board, but it doesn't look to be any more clever than that. What I don't get is how much he left on the table. If he's really a cyclist, he should have aerodynamics burned into his soul. But he doesn't just claim to be a cyclist-he's also a performance automotive designer-this guy has to know about aero! So why did he pick the most un-aerodynamic form of a bicycle to marry a paddle board. Why didn't he choose a recumbent bike-which not only promises to give a better Cd, but also better stability, ergonomics, and more efficient power delivery? My take away from this brief snippet of his portfolio is that he has only a simple imagination and access to a lot of money. "
