"My guess is that because porcelain conducts heat less readily than typical heat sink materials like aluminum or brass, the shape doesn't significantly contribute to heat loss of the contents. Could be marginally improved by using a material that is less thermally conductive; glass maybe? The fins do serve to dissipate any heat that they get into the air, rather than into one's hand."
"The video shows the pods supported from above, making the raised center aisle even more puzzling. And that wheelchair pic is hilarious- is that element not scaled correctly to the environment, or is everything in Hyperloop world just too damn narrow?"
"This CC ide model has a fixed slice thickness. The plate rises on the central spindle as you turn the cutter. There is a release under the plate to slide it up/down when changing cheeses. This page has documentation, if you can read Danish (or run it through translation):https://www.bentbrandt.dk/produkter/koekkenartikler-og-koekkengrej/rotary-osteskaerer-50907710Budget version where the cutter moves down on the spindle, also fixed thickness:https://www.kop-kande.dk/nuance-ostesk-rer-med-sort-boks-5722004615237"
"Mmm...looks nice (although if I'm honest, I probably don't need to add more storage gadgets for my hoard of small parts).Would you happen to know the SKU Barcode Number? Maybe if we put in a special request, they would add it to the website.https://daisous.com/pages/special-requests"
"I like the first three pics- here's what the sneakers look like, here's how they look when someone is wearing them, and here's a user clutching their ankle after the weird sole catches on something and yanks their foot at an awkward angle"
"I have a set of Metrinch combination SAE/Metric sockets, which I absolutely love. They do really well on nuts/bolts from both standards, and are surprisingly effective on fasteners that I have rounded off (usually by trying an adjustable wrench first). Not sure how well the X6 grabs the flats vs. the corners, though. Metrinch uses a six-point design, sort of like the receptacle on the X6 handle."
