  • "I mean, that’s just not correct. Most headwear out there comes pre-curved as it’s the style and functionality of keeping sun from your eyes (from a 5-year headwear designer)."

  • "Thought I signed onto Motortrend for a second. Totally personal, deeply seated bone to pick:It's disappointing so much ink from a design website would be spilled on a $60k vehicle (like Base!) that is just the most regressive, opposite direction this country should be going in. We're at the start of a gas pricing crisis, probably economic contraction, and vehicle caused deaths/injuries are maintaining their all-time heights. Enormous hood height (albeit lower than Chevy thank god), 6,150lbs curb weight (never mind all the jacks, racks, aftermarket fenders with winches, huge tires, etc). The only thing less responsible at the moment is a 9,000lbs Rivian.Everything about this vehicle is the antithesis of empathetic design, and continuance of a societal trend our kids will look back on as yet another cycle of machismo that predictably sets this country and planet backwards. Here's a good Industrial Design tie-in; this should be an article on how Congress should be creating legislation requiring the NTSB to regulate the dimensions of vehicles, and how vehicle designers, engineers, product managers and maybe most importantly marketing have to put their brains together to convince Americans that our obsession with the arms race of larger and larger vehicles is a societal rot that is literally killing us. Let's design some rad, efficient, safe vehicles that move the average American family where they need to be in style, comfort and safety without accepting the compromises vehicles like this perpetuate. PHEW."

  • "Very dependent on the designer. I use all process', and will go from analog to digital as needed. A small surface to work on would certainly suffice for the digital aspect of my work, but I do also like to spread print-outs across my work surface for review and comparison. Further more, I work with soft-goods and will sample ideas in-house on which I need a surface to cut/sew. That's where the idea of just having a secondary mobile work surface to roll up to my computer area would be helpful in those instances where spread-out room is desired, but not always required. I think the most appealing thing about this concept to me is the ability to compartmentalize and organize elements needed for working, and effectively eliminates the opportunity to pile junk up on a static working surface (aka the standard desk). "

  • "This is one of the few Kickstarters I've seen in quite a while that seems like an honest and valid use of crowd funding. It's great that he shows his process and manufacturing capabilities up front. I think it's an interesting concept to detach the module or surface on which all our electronics and peripherals live, from the work space of a desk top. I personally use the desktop only for sketching, or other hands on design activities. It's preferable to not have a computer, desk supplies, etc on the work surface but it's nice to have them readily available. I think this in combination with a drafting table (adjustable modules would work nicely with this) or a table on wheels is a fantastic idea!"

  • "This bike is "Dutch" only in country of manufacturing origin. The attraction of Dutch bikes, and what makes them a category unto themselves is their relaxed and upright riding position that allows for a slow paced, comfortable ride. The slack seat angle also allows for putting a foot down at a light without getting out of the saddle. This bike geometry wise is the anti-Dutch bike."

  • "Another interesting perspective on this is that Stance has an exclusive sock contract with the NBA. The sock liner concept could in part be a clever recovery of some branding area. http://www.uni-watch.com/2016/03/01/is-it-a-shoe-a-sock-a-sleeve-or-all-three/"

  • "While this is an interesting idea, in the first minute they seem to totally miss the point...people don't take pictures with their phone because it's a convenient form factor, they take pictures with it because it's the single device they HAVE to carry in order to do so."
