  • "I research a lot of camping and hiking equipment and one of my favorite stoves is a cat food tin stove you can make at home. There are a number of variations on these simple alcohol stoves and it's fun to Google around and see people's ingenuity. Stoves that are durable, reliable, and cross-functional are important to the more serious outdoors-person... weight is the key factor for many. "Coming in at just 1.2 pounds" as you note is not a light weight stove. My alcohol stove weighs 49 grams and the canister stove I just purchased weighs only 25. The latter being incredibly safe and stable at elevation and temps below freezing.I get that you're trying to sell these stoves over in Hand Eye Supply but don't try to pass this off as a design wonder, that's kind of sad.  Show me a self-priming white gas stove that's under an ounce and I'll be impressed."
