"This is a nice design, but misses on the concept of cigarette litter. The story mentions the goop from soggy cig butts already, but misses on the fires that will start from trash being jammed in the opening on top. If cigarette litter reduction is a concern, the collection recepticles must be easy to use, convenient , and placed not more that 3-5 meters apart. Smokers will not hold butts longer than that while walking on urban sidewalks, sorry... My company has built containers that have collected over 624 million cig butts and kept them out of the enviroment. I have a small understanding of the issues."
