"Look, I love the design and aesthetic - it is gorgeous. And appreciate the good intentions. But this product is largely irrelevant today: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Watt_Initiative, with most products drawing significantly less than that.Hell, assuming 10 LEDs in the LED strip (of which there's likely to be more) can already draw about 0.5W of power. This product, while quite beautiful, doesn't actually achieve its stated aim at all. Residential energy usage is only 20% of the demand in South Africa. If every household has one of these and it saves 1% of residential electricity (which is much more than it would), you're looking at 0.2% energy reduction in the whole country. So ultimately, it's got a great marketing campaign, but that's it.Maybe 10 yeas ago it would've been a valuable product, but it's largely deprecated today. My recommendation would be to use the same design, which I love, and instead pivot the device to perform some other kind of function. Maybe indicating how much power is being consumed using the LED's brightness, or which device is using the most. That's far more valuable, makes the consumer more conscience of how much power their devices are using when they're actually ON. Good idea - not in its final form yet I'm afraid. "
