"I hope the bench fabrication takes into consideration the emissivity of the steel surface. If it is low and exposed to strong sun light, the bench can get uncomfortably or dangerously hot."
"There are knock-offs on Amazon (surprise again, they are Chinese manufacture). I wonder if there was any patent protection. I am not sure whether it would matter. "
""We traveled the world searching for a cost-effective process and found
it in South America. There we pioneered the process, then adapted it for
mass manufacture in Asia to keep costs competitive with traditional
drill bits." Sigh... A bunch of funny language to excuse finding the process in SA and taking it to China. Why am I not surprised?"
"We had something similar in our apartments in South Korea when we were living there a decade ago. If I remember correctly, one was not functional and the other had none of the sophisticated provisions. Some type of enhancement to the drying process is preferred during the hot and humid season. Although it was a fancy building, I made use of the communal coin-operated washers and dryers."
"How about a robust solution for a smart watch? I don't carry my phone when working in our small garden (my wife can reach me by voice), but if I did I might be tempted by a durable smart watch. Many years ago, I learned my lesson by smashing my phone display when working outside."
"I wonder which construction is actually used. I suspect it is the one with the top plate (first image of Babar chair) rather than with the 4-bolt mitered pieces shown in the missing leg photo. "
"Excellent solution! As I may have mentioned before, OXO is no longer the company it was once. It was bought by "Helen of Troy." Helen is famous for a tax avoidance scheme rather than product design. "
"No scale? I guessed from the set screw size that the wheels were 50mm diameter. Looked it up and they are 80mm. So much for my observational skills. I like the design, but no place to show it off, even if I had the spare coin."
"Venerated? I bought my last Stanley thermos quite a few years ago. Handle broke off easily as it was weakly spot-welded. Have since moved to Zojirushi (for small size) and never looked back. It has excellent vacuum insulation. Finicky (for cleaning) lid design is the drawback."
"Not having done any calculations, I would suspect that the supports are redundant given the stiffness imbued by the shape and thickness of the stainless steel plate. Unless it will be supporting a stone gargoyle."
"Cool design! Reminds me of the sensors on the tentacles of the spaceships in the War of the Worlds movie. Wondering if it would be a trip hazard and the difficulty of dusting the base."
