"Martin, Ray did a fantastic job reviewing a number of the top office furniture manufacturers height adjustable desks. The Geek Desk was the go to desk if you wanted to get a desk for under $1,000.00.  Most of these guys use the Linak actuators which were always the best bar none. While The Geek Desk manufactured out of China.  Lately, there has been a real growth in the standing desk business. Some okay, some very good and some great all for under the $1,000.00. An example of technology surpassing the big guys status quo; Steelcase was the go to if a company wanted a walking treadmill desk. The issue besides the exorbitant cost is that the treadmill max's out at 2 miles an hour. Two miles an hour is ideal for the 60 plus crowd. Lifespan with a walking treadmill 1/2 the cost and twice the speed is taking the market over. We are starting to see more large corporate accounts looking for high quality low cost desks. Google just bought 16,000 sit stand desks that does not come from one of the majors, but one of these new high quality low cost models.                                                                                                    So Martin, to answer your question, yes there are a couple of new players with good quality desks.
