  • "As a concept to utilize an established recycling system, I think this is great. From the use of raw materials and transportation costs, this misses the mark. I like what Blueland is doing by selling nice glass and metal pump bottles and then selling concentrated soap tablets wrapped in paper. I love their product. It works great. It uses no single-use plastic and reduces shipping costs. I've only transitioned to their hand soap at the moment and will be doing so for other products. Why recycle anything if you can avoid using it all together? "

  • "This reminds me of Twiki from Buck Rogers. That robot wore a smart computer named Theo. This is sort of a reverse Cap Camera too. I am sure there would be a protocol to start the camera and mic if you were being pulled over. Once cloud storage becomes infinite these things will record everything though. That is just like a Black Mirror episode. I kind of like it and hate it at the same time. "

  • "Saying it holds 10 grams of beans is really not accurate. Coffee can weigh differently based on how the beans were roasted. If you weighed 5 scoops each one would have a different weight. It is a really nice-looking object but really serves no greater purpose other than a spoon. The best way to get good coffee is to weigh your beans for a consistent brew. My scale doesn't care how the beans get on it. Seems to me that someone had the means to make something and didn't ask if they should. "

  • "They appear to be screwed together with plugs hiding the screws. Bonding HDPE with plywood is tough. 3M makes an adhesive but not much works and it is more expensive than screws. I like that their design utilizes most of the sheet of HDPE with little waste. I don't think I'd break them down much but it sure would help when moving. "

  • "For one we usually have waste aluminum that is small and hard to use. We used to make brass knuckle bottle openers out of 1/2" thick aluminum for fun and nest them into what would just get recycled. When you buy plate aluminum in 4x8 or larger sheets you try the best you can to use it all. If it is scrap then the cost is only what the recycler would give you which is 50 cents a pound. Much nicer than a plastic soap dish that can't get recycled."
