"The design provides an interesting commentary regarding human interactivity.  It encourages two users to sit on the same bench in opposite directions so they are seeing completely different scenes, while inviting them to twist a little to turn towards each other to interact.  I like the metaphor it presents that different views from the same place can stimulate a rich face-to-face encounter.  I also like that it looks hard and heavy, like it might be made from ceramic or stone, while it is likely very light and presents a soft and inviting form to sit on.   "
