"I love all of these ideas. I was wondering if there's something you carry while backpacking that can be replaced by this, so that it's doing double duty. Like some part of a tent or your pack. "
"I did not intend to hit a nerve. And I agree that any time spend in ill fitting shoes is causing harm. For decades we have been sold on the need for cushioning, support, orthotics, etc. when what we really need are strong feet that cushion and support themselves. And we can all do that for free. As for who I am, a former recreational long-distance runner that has spent years rehabilitating his feet from the deformations caused by conventional footwear."
"Continues to drive me crazy that conventional footwear companies can put out this garbage without any concern for what it's doing to people's feet, and bodies in general. Sure, let's strap 4 sponges to each foot and run 26 miles. What could go wrong? Forget the waste of a disposable running shoe, not even getting into that. "
"At 3.2 lbs per foot I'm wondering about aches and pains from carrying that much weight on each foot all day. There's a good reason that a lot of Appalachain Trail thru-hikers wear trail runners instead of boots. Less weight on your feet means slower fatigue. It would be interesting to hear what employees actually thought of the product beyond just the single quote in that case study."
"It's great that someone is looking at this product in a new way. And the idea of shielding yourself from fire as you move to an exit is brilliant. But everyone knows the form of a fire extinguisher. In a real emergency someone may run right past this not realizing what it is. How do you re-educate people on such a massive scale to recognize alternative forms? And is the common fire extinguisher really that much of an eye sore? We have white ones at home that I peeled the stickers off of and applied my own stickers. Now they're art!"
