"This is all about marketing and nothing to do with a well designed, quality product.  The story sounds good - she's a young woman working in an industry we'd normally associate with older men who got into it to connect with her ailing father - but the product looks like something produced by someone trying their hand at knife-making for the very first time.  The kind of person who, when encountering a problem or flaw, simply calls it a point of character and moves on instead of putting in the time and effort to find a workable solution.  Those of you who have gone to school to design have probably worked with these types (They normally don't make it out into industry).If the work was required to speak for itself we never would have heard about it."
