"As a guitarist and designer, I understand the appeal of this instrument, not least because at an earlier stage of my music journey I most certainly would have loved to have a guitar like this because I like to experiment with different pickups. However, there is something to be said about whether this product will appeal to the mass market. Typical guitar players have not just one instrument, but almost a hilariously extension collection due to it is buying into a brand, or (in my case) shifting tastes that can only be sated by having a dozen or so guitars in constant rotation. It's also not just the pickups, I enjoy different body shapes and neck profiles as well. Then again, I'm probably not the target market for this product.Their biggest hurdle is getting people on board with the aesthetics. Right now, the vibe is more "Samsung TV" than "serious gigging tool", much less "object of desire". As an engineered outcome, it's scores great, but it's simply not quite there on the design front."
