  • "I love the designs and that the concept has been applied to more than the unaffordable house porn single family house.  It would be interesting to see the concept applied to replacements for factory manufactured housing and mobile homes."

  • "The only time you want lighting in front of you is when you're sitting in front of a camera. Otherwise, the glare increases fatigue and reduces visual acuity. A far better lighting situation for someone at a desk is a shielded light on the side and slightly behind. The light source should be diffuse and 3000 K color temperature. You should never be able to see the light source itself. "

You need to leave the city on a regular basis to maintain sanity and a sense of humanity.I'm afraid my next car is going to be an automatic because of domestic "conversations". I may use the forced transition to automatic transmission as an excuse to go to an electric car. In the meantime I'm going to try to delay the inevitable by making my current car hit 300,000 (it's currently at 204k)"

  • "I would also imagine that as a neighborhood gentrified, tagging drops off because the taggers don't live anywhere near that neighborhood. The taggers that do show up will stand out and be more visible to law enforcement and neighborhood watch groups so that appropriate corrective action can be taken. One additional benefit to gentrification is that it raises the tax revenue to the city to pay for social services while the same time decreasing the need for those social services by pushing low-income people out of the city. Win-win."

  • "I've never had a seat that fits then in 10 years of biking. been to a half dozen shops, tried 8 seats plus different kinds of padding. no joy.  I ended up staying off the bike when the damage caused by the seat gave me 3 yrs of chronic pelvic pain.My urologist pointed out that "you have the wrong seat" is a rationalization blaming the patient.  He would love to see the bike seat go away even though it brings him a fair amount of business. https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/urologic-diseases/perineal-injury-males"
