"I am interested in using this method for preserving large tree slices. I will treat the slices first with a wood stabilizer to prevent cracking and splitting. I have only seen this method used on planks and sheeting. Do you think this method would work on tree slices? I am concerned that the grain runs in the opposite direction. My slices are 2-3 feet in diameter and 3-4 inches thick."
