  • "As the designer of most of COAST's lighting products, I get where you're coming from. The XP11R intent keeps things simple by showing basic battery status, which works well for everyday use. But if you're looking for more advanced battery indicators and higher performance, COAST definitely has options—like the TX300R or XP80R. Both are rechargeable and offer more detailed feedback. That kind of feature is actually more useful in camping or emergency lanterns like the EAL40R, which even lets you charge other devices. Precise battery metering is tricky across the board, since it depends on how bright you're running the light and for how long. We had many other products with this metering system, but honestly people chose not to pay for it. Most brands don't build to that level of circuitry unless it's absolutely needed. Appreciate the "lame" review and hope this sheds a little light on the design choices!"
