"Looks perfect and thus very wrong. Or I could say that he has invented a tool for mass production (relatively) and it looks that way. Every piece is going to be the same and that is just so far outside of the aesthetic of traditional, handcrafted pieces that it removes all dignity and most of the beauty. Or at least, it creates a new beauty of symmetric and perfection that is to me at odds with what he's imitating. . "
"This will keep you perpendicular only to the extent that your eyes can detect deformities of the circles. I’m sure that’s better better than I can do without the gizmo, but definitely not as precise as some of the mechanical gizmos, that attached to drills and pretty much force the drill to be in a position perpendicular to the workspace. One thing that does occur to me that I really like this for is that if you want to drill a series of evenly spaced holes along a straight line, and the radius of the laser-painted circle can be adjusted to the exact interval you want, this would make it very easy to do that job. After each hole, you move the drill so that the laser circle is sitting on top of the hole you just drilled. ."
"Here a cheap solution to add a drain plug to your trash can. Depending on the can, you might have to mount it on the side, at the bottom. https://www.amazon.com/METER-STAR-Universal-Thread-Rubber/dp/B08F431M8K/ref=sr_1_19?"
"I am surprised that the comment I made last week, about the negligence of the designer in not ensuring reasonable accuracy in the markings, is not visible."
"Beautifully designed but a truly epic fail—a triumph of great design over functionality, and a product of a designer working with no eye for the practical. A cup contains 237 ml, not 200. The markings for a cup on this lovely and readable piece of equipment are off by 15%. In baking especially but also in some other forms of cooking, being 15% short would be fatal to a recipe. I am amazed that this has made it to market."
