That was, until I found the Carl A-5 Angel Classic Manual Pencil Sharpener –http://amzn.com/B00WT4UD8YOk, so it's manual, but the point is impossibly sharp and crisp, it takes seconds, and there is something very satisfying and guttural about cranking one out. The only downside, really, is finding a good place to secure it, as it requires an old fashioned clamp. Otherwise, it's awesome. "
