"Good point! The other ones are universal, and as such would probably not be as secure fitting in the ear as these. If the noise reduction level is 25Db or more, then I might have to give them a try."
"There was a product exactly like this on "Shark Tank" last weekend. If anyone is interested, and doesn't want to wait for the Kickstarter campaign, then check out DiscoverVibes.com. I actually think theirs are a little more discreet, as well as cost less. No affiliation with the company. It was just fresh in my mind from the weekend."
"They should've added UV marking dye as well. A lot of pepper sprays have them these days. Fortunately, I've never been sprayed by a skunk. I'm wondering how hard it is to clean the bike afterward?"
"Thank you for calling attention to this detail that I had previously overlooked! Very interesting read. Although, when you spoke of traditional "full" chamfer, I'm not sure why wouldn't chamfer prior to assembly. I've always just run full lengths of stock on the router table, and then cut my miters. Works like a charm. "
"I definitely agree with you on the aesthetics of the device. However, I guess we will need to wait and see how efficiently it charges. Having used the Basecamp, I can tell you that it is not ideal for backpacking. It is extremely heavy, and it's charging abilities are sub par. You would be much better off with a fueled stove, or creating a traditional fire (if allowed), and then just bring a backup battery for charging. Most people don't really use their phones in the wilderness much anyway since there is typically no signal (unless you are near a peak). I relegated my Basecamp to household emergency status (power outage, natural disasters, etc)."
