"Maybe I am blind... or maybe this is something we just don't see in the UK... but I cannot see a use for this that would see me paying that sort of cash for a hook.I like the idea of being able to remove a hook when it is not in use, but with this arrangement I would just lose it. When I first saw the headline to this post I assume this was some sort of fold away hook rather than something that is designed to be portable. As a design, it looks nice, very robust and as stated by others very utilitarian. I am not sure if this would appeal to both sexes though. To me, this is a thick lump of machined metal which in itself looks masculine. I would be surprised to hear that this appeals to the majority of women (though I don't pretend to be an expert on this).I have to agree with Rain. This in my opinion is an over design that in solving one problem, introduces another."
"I would think this product was brilliant if it wasn't for the split and the fact that those seemingly excessively small pots have little ridges that prevent me from just sliding them in.I am always looking for additional storage in the kitchen but at that price? I will stick with an ordinary board."
"Couldn't agree more! It is a nice box and all... but I will stick with what I have thanks.Also... Rain... Don't spill onto your laptop and make us go without new content you slave! Now, back to work!"
"Nice work! This is pretty cool. I actually used to work for a company producing SLS 3D prints. My only comment would be, is +/- 1mm a close enough tolerance for your target market? Remember that there will be tolerance stack up too. This would probably be fine for a brace but you in your opening paragraphs you suggest this tool is for all products that interact with hands."
"Perhaps the design has merit beyond the anti theft. Maybe the product already exists (I'm not a keen photographer myself) but I wonder if this could be used to allow quick access to your camera in the rain whilst keeping it dry (or at least mostly). There is certainly some thought provocation from by this design. And professor plum is totally bad ass... so much so he doesn't even need the revolver!"
"I think as designers it is our morale obligation to contribute to society positively and as such misuse should always be factored in. This being said... design is about compromise and as such there are going to be products that are able to be misused. Should the candle stick not have been designed because Professor Plum might smack someone around the head with it... in the library?Regarding this particular product... Does it really solve the problem? It takes a camera and puts it in a camera sized and shaped bag, is this really hiding the camera? Not to mention the fact that as soon as you take a snap your disguise is ruined! "
"Sounds like the accountants were in control of this. Surely when people are at risk of losing their lives prevention is better than reduction? I also wonder if the study looked at drunks who didn't fall off but stumbled off to the side who will now fall off..."
