"Thanks for the in-depth comment. However, I disagree. Going by your assumptions, while 0.2 % does not sound like much, give some consideration as to how much money that actually amounts to, and what this sum of money could achieve besides powering products which are not in use. Take for instance a cell phone charger (this is research information). There are around 20 million documented cellphone users in South Africa, and just with the cellphone charger being left in the wall with out charging anything, it racks up to a whopping 70 million Rand a year. This is enough money to put 2400 students through their Btech university degrees. Going by statistics, this project is very relevant at this time, and the near future. "
"Great suggestion, however, with this particular project and product being guided by the ideas of the "Calm Design" movement, it has been designed so that the product does not try and perform that of a humans task, and vise versa. The idea was to make the user aware of the issue in-order for them to make an informed decision whether or not they want to disconnect the device, in hopes that further down the line it would instill a good habit of unplugging devices once not in use."
