"First of all he didn't repurpose it.  He rebuilt/designed an entirely new version (albeit similar in look to the Ikea one) with more expandable possibilities.  "repurposed" conveys the notion that he bought the Ikea product...and then modified it.  Which he didn't.  Second, his entire Etsy shop is full of similar designed items that all have a consistent look and build quality and also assembly similarly..  Is it overpriced?  That's in the eye of the buyer.  Clearly there is alot of work and material that goes into one of those things...lots of little pieces to produce.  I'll second what @whynow said....this site has devolved quite a bit from the days when it championed design instead of bashed it.  There's other arenas for that. "
